Which would be cheapest for my wedding. Roses or Gerbera?

My wedding is this september and I cant decide which flower to use, so i have decided to go for whichever is cheapest!

I know roses are usually quite expensive but not sure about gerbera - look a bit like big daisies but are all one colour.

Which would be cheapest for my wedding. Roses or Gerbera?
Roses are still cheaper
Reply:You should use a combination of both!! Roses and Gerberas run less than $1 a stem wholesale. You should look for floral wholesalers in your area or online and compare prices that way - if you want to make the arrangements yourself. If you're going to get a professional to do your arrangements, then pick three who have done designs that you like - and compare prices. Every vendor has different connections so one could get roses cheaper while another could get gerberas cheaper.
Reply:gerbera
Reply:Gerbera daisies are inexpensive all year round. Roses are a mid range flower, less expensive than Calla lilies. If you really want roses, just get less of them - they are so dramatic. I had pink roses for my bouquet, my husband's boutoneirre, and close family's corsages. The rest of the bridal party and special guests had pink carnations. The carnations were inexpensive, hardy, and surprisingly pretty. (This was a summer wedding).
Reply:Gerberas are definitely cheaper.
Reply:I agree Gerbera
Reply:Talk to a good florist they will be able to help you the most. I am sure Gerbera's are cheaper though if they are in season!
Reply:roses run about $1.25 each gerberas are about .75 each. When you buy them in bulk you will get a better price. This is if you are making the bouquets yourself.
Reply:I also agree Gerbera either one you choose they are both beautiful.

FYI...I have reported the rude individual who left you that nasty message!
Reply:Gerbera are less expensive. They come in many different colors and with the large flowers can be very striking and beautiful in a bouquet and/or centerpiece.
Reply:Roses come in about every color you can possibly imagine now and are available year round. If you buy them in bluk they can be as cheap as 2 a stem. The problem with roses for me is everybody does them and when you get several hundred in a room the smell can get pretty overpowering.

Geberas are pretty close to price in roses. IMO they seem to last longer than roses. The drawback the them is they are pretty casual so wouldn't look righ at a back-tie wedding and you are usually limited to reds, oranges, yellows, or whites.

Talk with you florist about a flower called a peonie. They are cheaper here and similar in look to roses and come in just as many colors, however, they arent' as formal.
Reply:Gerberas are cheaper and seem to be in vogue at the moment....personally I dont like them. They remind me of old grandmas as in our area all the crusty old ladies grew them. Lol ....but most people love them and think they are gorgeous so I would go with them. I am positive they are much cheaper than roses, and you could always get your granny to grow some for you. lol. Good luck with your day!

Oh and someone needs to report that rude person up above. He is just nasty.
Reply:are you doing silk or real? Silks right now are the same price, But, you should order soon, as the Gerber will go up in price.
