How to make a boutonniere with gerbera daisies?


I've found several ideas of how to make a bout with roses or other kinds of flowers, but nothing specific to gerberas. I've tried a few different ways, but it always looks odd.

Gerber daisies are really big, which is why they usually aren't used for boutonnieres. Why not just use a single Gerber daisy in the lapel and not worry about adding to it with greenery and all that as it might get too big for the lapel. Take the green florist tape and wrap around the stem til it gets the right thickness. Pin it with a straight pen. I think the groomsmen would be much happier with that, instead of something that is kinda massive.
Reply:They are large. Just with some maidenhair fern I guess would work.

Reply:Since gerbera's are so large on their own, probably it would be best to just use a single bloom for a bout. Anything else might look strange and overdone. Try theknot.com though - they have pictures of everything you could imagine!
Reply:Unless you can find some variety of smaller or mini gerberas, I think they may be too big for a bout. It may end up looking like a corsage instead.





Roses, alstromeria, carns, etc. work better b/c they are not so big. Even if you are using gerberas in your bouquets, it will look fine to have the men wear something else.





You might even use regular daisies for them, that would blend really well with the gerberas.
