How do I grow gorgeous Gerberas??? And when do i start??

I LOVE Gerberas... but whenever we try to grow them, they always turn far more limp looking and droopier, and the colours aren't as vibrant as the ones you see in the shops. why is this so?? are there any particular types of Gerberas i should look out for? and when is the right time to plant seeds for them??

conditions ! that speaks volumes for any plant .

i don't know your area but lets assume your in the right area , if your gerbera heads are limping because of age and time , cut the heads and propagate the seeds into a seed tray -- 1 part loam - 1 part sand - and 1 part vermiculite --- cover with plastic with a couple of sheets of newspaper ina warm area out of the sunlight --- and you can do the rest as the seedlings raise .

but the gerbera heads must be 'fresh' for the best results . good luck .
Reply:You need to use fertilizer in the soil to get better growth. You plants the seeds in the spring after the last hard frost as soon as the ground can be worked.
