Gerbera daisies?

caring for in containers

Gerbera daisies?
Gerberas do need full sun. They also need to remain moist. I suspect that it may be the pot that you are using. Terra cotta pots can wick the water from the soil rather rapidly.

You might also try using a water retentive additive, Polyacrylamide, in your potting soil. A highly organic potting soil is also useful.

Polyacrylamide is sold under many different names: Terra-Sorb ® , Hydrosource ®, Hydro-mulch, water crystals, PAM, copolymer, Moist Soil®, Aquasorb ®, Agrosoke®, Smart Soil ®, Aquacrystals™, Bioplex™, Agro-diamonds ®. These products look like tiny cubes of jello and are capable of absorbing great amounts of water. Mixed into your potting soil, the retain this water until your plants roots need it.
Reply:so simple just put them in sun and water them ,dont let them get dry and u can also use a fertilizer . miraclegro is a good fertilizer . or any other 20-20-20 formulated fertilizer.

good luck
Reply:Keep them watered well so that they do not dry out and when they bloom if the bloom is turning brown pluck off plant to keep it blooming. This is called deadheading . Gerbera daisys are sooooooo pretty .
Reply:What about them? They're fantastic flowers, treat as normal summer bedding, will not overwinter outdoors in the uk.
